Meet Our Staff

Mr. Sweeney earned his Business Management degree from Miami University in Oxford, OH in 1977. He has graduated from the GM School of Merchandising and Management and also from Leadership Mahoning Valley in 1989. He has served on the GM National Fixed Operation Dealer Board. The dealerships have won numerous sales and customer satisfaction awards over the years, including the coveted Dealer of the Year Award, GM’s top 100 dealerships in the Nation, for five years. Mr. Sweeney served on the board of National City Bank, Northeast. He is an elder, past corporate chairman, and member for 42 years of Poland Presbyterian Church, a member of the Board of Directors for the Regional Chamber and The Better Business Bureau, a former board member of the YSU Penguin Club, a member of United Way Leadership Club and Legacy Society, United Way Campaign chairperson in 2007-2008, past board chairman of Big Brothers/Big Sisters of the Mahoning Valley, past board chairman of the American Red Cross-Mahoning Chapter, a former Chairperson and Board Member of the Ohio Federation of Independent Colleges fundraising effort in the tri county area and Ohio, past Chairperson of the YMCA of Youngstown’s Partner of Youth Campaign which raises substantial monies for Youth memberships, past president of the Automobile Dealers Association of Northeast Ohio, past chairman of the Vocational Advisory Committee for the Youngstown City Schools, and a past co-chairman of the Forum Children’s Hospital Golf Classic and the American Cancer Society Golf Tournaments, golf tournaments raising substantial funds for the hospital and the Cancer Society. He is an avid Boater and hobbies include bicycling and Ohio State and YSU football. He is married to wife Patricia and has three daughters and two grandchildren

I’ve spent my entire life around the automotive business at my family’s dealerships, Snyder Pontiac Buick GMC in Mercer, PA and Snyder Oldsmobile Pontiac Cadillac in Grove City, PA. I’ve been with Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC for 2 years. I studied at Marian University in Indianapolis and also was the Valedictorian of GM Dealership Management Class 229. I like to spend my free time with my family and friends. One of my favorite past times is attending sporting events.

My name is Ed Gainard. I am the used car manager here at Sweeney Chevrolet. I have worked in the auto industry for 30 years, the last 8 I have spent with Sweeney. I grew up in Girard, Ohio and currently reside in Liberty, Ohio with my wife Kathy. I have two Children, Katy (31) and Sean (28). I am a graduate of Ursuline High School in Youngstown, Ohio. In my free time I love spending time with my pets, 3 dogs and 1 cat and watching the Notre Dame Fighting Irish (I have been a lifelong fan).

I have been with Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC for 23 years. As a Sales Manager, I enjoy interacting with customers and finding them the right vehicle to fit their needs. I am a life-long resident of Struthers, OH. I enjoy spending time with my wife, Kathy, and my two sons, Frank and A.J. Frank works at CCA prison in Youngstown, OH and as a part-time police officer. A.J. is a sophomore at The University of Akron where he is studying marketing. My hobbies include traveling, golfing, camping, gardening, and watching sports.

I have been in the Automotive Industry since 1996. I enjoy working with customers and helping them find the right car for their needs.I live in Canfield, Ohio with my wife Frances. In my free time, I love spending time with my family and watching sports.

My name is Christopher Anderson. I've been in the automotive industry for about a total of a year, with 2 months spent here at Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC. I grew up in Hubbard, Ohio, where I graduated from Hubbard High School before attending Kent State University. In my free time I love to hunt and fish, and actively attend 3D Archery Shoots. I also enjoy spending time with my dogs, and with my wonderful girlfriend.

I grew up in Lowellville, OH and currently live in Poland, OH with my wife, Becky, and 2 girls, Lily and Zoe. I’ve been in the Automotive industry for two years and have recently joined Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC. Previously, I worked in Environmental Sales and services for 15 years. I’m a very easy-going person to work with, and like to get straight to the point. I was a member of the Poland Fire Department from 1992 to 2009. My free time I like to spend with my family and working on our house. I also enjoy camping and fishing with my daughters. Come see me for the best car buying experience you have ever had.

I just started with Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC but have been in the automotive industry for about two years now. I'm a lifelong resident of Hubbard, Ohio and graduate of HHS, class of 2010. I still reside in Hubbard with my girlfriend Katarina and two dogs Ava and Atti. In my free time I enjoy golf, fishing, hunting and hanging out with my friends and family. I will do everything in my power to make sure you have the best buying experience, ever!

I am a lifelong resident of Bazetta Township, Cortland, Ohio. I graduated from Lakeview Schools, and attended Kent State and Youngstown State University. I am married to my high school sweetheart, Jeannette, and she is the Owner/Artistic Director of Jeanette's School of Dance. We are the proud parents of one daughter, Courtney, who resides in Boardman with her husband Aaron. I have 23 years experience in the automobile industry having worked as both Sales Consultant and New Car Manager. I am proud to have been the recipient of many customer service awards throughout the years, and I am excited to be working as a Sales Consultant for Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC, in Boardman. During my free time I am either working with my wife at our dance school, serving on various committees at our church or attending high school/college football and basketball games.

I love shooting pool, playing softball and playing poker. My favorite part about being in the automotive industry is getting to know new people everyday. I am a straight forward, family man.

My name is Lisa Crone. I’ve been in the automotive industry for 3 ½ months, but I grew up around cars. My family owned a car dealership, and my father and uncle are both still in sales. I graduated from YCS as well as cosmetology school. I grew up in Smokey Hollow on the North Side of Youngstown. I’m engaged to my best friend Ron, and have a future step son named Tyler. I’m a big Minnesota Football fan, as well as a fan of NASCAR Jeff Gordon. In my free time I love spending time with my big family!

I have been with the Sweeney organization since 1974 when the Chevrolet dealership was on Wick Avenue. I’m originally from the West Side of Youngstown and graduated from Chaney High School. I was hired at State Chevrolet the day after graduation and have been with the Sweeney family dealership ever since. My husband Ed and I have been married for 33 years, live in Austintown and have 4 boys. I loved every minute of motherhood! I have held several different jobs during my employ, from switchboard operator to Finance Manager and I am currently the Delivery Coordinator/Accessories Specialist/CSI facilitator. I love meeting new people every day and hope that I make a difference in our customer’s positive dealership experience here! I love to cook and also love to read, but my true passion is found in being with family!

My name is Tom Hankey. I've been with Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC for a short time but I've been in the automotive industry for almost 13 years. I am a graduate of Chaney High School as well as Youngstown State University. I'm a life long resident of Youngstown, Ohio where I still live with my wife Geniene and two sons, Anson and Aidan. In my free time I enjoy playing the drums and sharing baseball and The Boy Scouts with my sons.

I was born and raised in the Mahoning Valley and now reside in Poland, Ohio with my husband. We have two sons and three wonderful grandchildren. I enjoy reading, crochet and spending time with my family.

My name is George Key. I just started for Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC but I have worked in Automotive Consulting for 2 years now. I am a lifetime Boardman resident, where I am also a graduate. I have a girlfriend, Petrina of 2 and a half years who is the source of my strength and passion. In my free time I enjoy spending time with her and my family, doing my insanity workout, lifting heavy weights, swimming, watching Netflix and playing video games. I can not wait to serve the customers of Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC!

I grew up in Pittsurgh, PA and currently live in Hubbad, OH with my wife, Marianne. I'm a proud father of four children. My oldest daughter is an EMT in Pittsburgh and my oldest son is a US Marine stationed in San Diego. I've been with Sweeny Chevrolet Buick GMC for over 3 years. I'm a Truck Marketing Institute Graduate and the designated truck specialist for the Chevrolet Dealership. Before coming to Sweeney I had 25 years of experience in the construction industry. I've been a life-long car enthusiast. When I was younger, I would drag race and even attend the Professional Driving School at Kentucky Motor Speedway. In my free time I enjoy watching and attending NASCAR races, golfing and cheering on the Steelers and the Penguins.

I grew up in Youngstown, OH and currently live with my wife in Boardman, OH. I have 5 daughters and 3 grandchildren. I have 10 years of experience in the automotive business and have spent the last 4 with Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC. I’m a no-pressure sales person who likes to treat customers like they are family. In my free time, I enjoy playing with my grandchildren, spending time with my family, and watching sports.

I grew up and reside in McDonald, OH. I have two children, Brian and Melissa, and a granddaughter, Lilly. I have been at Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC for 12 years, and enjoy coming into work every day and helping my clients find the right car for them. In my free time, I enjoy golfing and watching the Browns, Cavaliers, and Indians.

I was born in Redondo Beach, CA, grew up and live in Austintown, OH. I have 11 years of experience in the automotive industry and have been at Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC for a year. In my free time I enjoy biking, golfing, playing basketball and spending time with family.

I grew up in Washingtonville, OH, where my parents still live. I graduated from Leetonia High School and Youngstown State University with a finance degree. I have lived in the Mahoning Valley area my entire life and currently own a home in Austintown, OH. I have 6 years of experience in the automotive business and have been with Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC for 1 year. I am The Dealer representative for Sweeney Chevrolet, Buick and GMC for General Motors at the Lordstown facility. I am also a 3 time member of GM’s “Mark of Excellence” and a Certified Truck expert for 5 years. I was rewarded with perfect 100% customer satisfaction index by my customers for 2010.

I grew up in Youngstown, OH and now live in Boardman, OH. I started working in the automotive business in 1964. I worked for State Chevrolet (owned by Arthur J. Sweeney) from 1965 to 1971; then returned to the Sweeney family 6 years ago to work at Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC. I truly enjoy working with customers to help them find the right vehicle. In my free time I enjoy bowling.

I grew up in Liberty Township. I have been with Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC for 5 years. In addition to being a Sales and Leasing Consultant I am also the Trainer for the dealership. I am a mother of two teenage boys who go to Liberty High School. One of my favorite things to do is play co-ed softball on our Sweeney softball team and spend time with my kids, nieces, and nephews. I truly enjoy my job. I have a reputation of being an extremely helpful and easy going salesperson. The majority of my customers are referred to me by previous customers, due to my easy going personality.

My Name is Stephanie Pozega. I'm the office manager for Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC, where I have been for 34 years. I'm a lifelong resident of Girard, Ohio. In my free time I enjoy reading, the beach, shopping and spending time with my family and friends.

My name is Samantha Moore. I've worked in the Auto Industry for 6 years, all of which have been spent with Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC. I grew up, and still live in Mineral Ridge, Ohio. I am a graduate of Mineral Ridge HS and currently attend YSU as a middle childhood education major, with an emphasis on math and language arts. I have a 3 1/2 year old Great Dane named Lucy and a 1 year old Rottweiler named Nala. In my spare time I enjoy reading, playing with my dogs and participating in soccer and tennis.

I have worked for Sweeney for 13 years. I currently live in Boardman, Ohio.

I have worked for Sweeney for a little over a year, but I have been around the auto industry my entire life. Both of my parents worked at State Chevrolet before it moved to our current location. I am a lifelong resident of Austintown, Ohio and a graduate of Austin Fitch High School. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and watching football.

I have worked in the automotive industry for 37 years, and have been with Sweeney for 18 years. I currently live on the West Side of Youngstown.

I've been in the automotive industry for 15 years, 10 of which have been spent with Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC. I live in Columbiana, Ohio with my wife Lisa and twin girls Mya and Lily. I attended Columbiana High School as well as Kent State University. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, and watching NASCAR and Formula 1 racing.

My name is Mark Malaska. I just started at Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC, but I've been in the automotive industry for 7 years. I grew up in Youngstown and am a graduate of Cardinal Mooney HS and the University of Akron. I currently live in Canfield with my wife Shelby and son Benjamin. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family.

I grew up in locally in Niles, OH and currently live in Canfield, OH. I have 13 years of experience in the automotive business and have been with Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC for 6 years. I have been a part of GM’s Make of Excellence for 4 years. In my free time I enjoy playing softball and bocce.

My name's Alexa Sweeney. I've been in the automotive industry since I started with Sweeney in 2004. I'm a graduate of Poland Seminary High School, where I grew up as well as YSU. I now reside in Boardman with my Husband Josh and two children. In my spare time I love to travel and to volunteer. I'm a volunteer with many organizations including Akron Children's Hospital Kids Crew, Rich Center for Autism, Mill Creek Metroparks, and Oh Wow!

My name is Jason Bumgardner. I've been with Sweeney for 16 years, and in the automotive industry for a total of 20 years. I grew up in Leetonia, Ohio where I attended High School. I currently reside in Canfield, Ohio. I have an 11 year old son name Paris. In my free time, I enjoy Golf, Ohio State Football and spending time with my son.

I grew up in Canfield, OH and graduated from Canfield High School in 1985. I currently reside in Hubbard, OH with my wife and 2 children. I’ve been in the automotive business for 25 years and have spent the last 11 years with Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC. I have been in the automotive business for a long time, started out selling cars then went into the finance department, and then on to service. I am sure with my years of experience I can handle any or all of your service needs. When I’m not busy helping customers, I enjoy boating, camping, and spending time with family.

I grew up and currently live in East Palestine, OH. I’ve been in the automotive business for 17 year and have spent the last 15 years with Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC. I really enjoy meeting new customer and focus on providing great customer service to keep them coming back. In my free time, I enjoy playing with my band, and spending time with my Wife and two kids, Morgan and Clark.

My name is Jerry Taylor. I’ve worked at Sweeney since 1989, and in the Auto Industry for a total of about 25 years. I’m a lifelong resident of Youngstown, and a graduate of Chaney High School. I still reside in Youngstown with my wife of 22 years, and 3 children. I also attended New Castle School of Trades for Auto Mechanics. I began my career with Sweeney at State Chevrolet as a mechanic. In my spare time I like to watch Baseball, NASCAR and riding my motorcycles.

My name is Dominic Moore. I have been with Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC for the past 3 years. I grew up in Youngstown, Ohio and graduated from Lowellville High School where I currently reside. I'm a current student at YSU. In my free time I enjoy hunting, fishing and watching Ohio State Football.
